Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .
Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.
Wow. It was predictable but very, very awesome. I love Cinder and her love interest, Kai. I’m really excited to find out what happens in the second installment. I’ve heard it’s better than the first one. I don’t know how that’s possible but maybe Meyer will surprise me.
The best part of this is the creativity that Meyer used to rewrite the classic tale of Cinderella. Not only only is Cinder a mechanic but a cyborg mechanic. So awesome.
Cinder, Iko, Kai, Peony and even the good doctor are all really likable characters. Audrey, Pearl, and Queen Lavana are all really despicable and you’ll really love to hate them.
